Batya

Batya, a 19 year old electro pop artist could be the next big thing. Intrigued by songwriting at an early age, her 15 year old sister bought her guitar who passed away shortly after. Artists’ that write and perform music as a source of therapy always make the best work of art. Timeless and classic songs are created through trials and tribulations.

My personal favorite is What’s My Name. Batya notes, “What’s My Name?” is a song about losing your identity. There was a time in my life where I got lost and wasn’t sure which way to go. During my senior year of high school everybody seemed to know what they wanted to do and where they wanted to go but I didn’t. The answer was actually right in front of me but I was too afraid to see it. I think it had been the first time in my life where I lost sight of who I was and what I wanted. I feel like most of us go through that at one point or another which is what makes this track so relatable. I feel like a 15 year old or an 80 year old can turn it on and just be like “I totally get it.”

The indie songstress is currently working on an album that has a tentative fall release.
