The New York band HOKO has just released a new song called “Ephemera.” They worked together with musicians Mikey Shoes and Zackary Dawes on this song. Right now, HOKO is touring with the bands Weathers and almost monday, traveling across the country and ending the tour on August 25th in Richmond.
HOKO creates a unique style that mixes alternative and experimental pop music. Their music has elements of psychedelia and rock. The band is made up of two members, Nathaniel Hoho and Jesse Kotansky. Nathaniel used to perform on the streets and sleep in his car before meeting Jesse in Brooklyn. Together, they’ve collaborated with other artists like Pond, Nick Allbrook, and J Mascis. They draw inspiration from musicians like David Bowie, Queen, and The Beatles. After signing with EQT in 2020, their song “OK OK” became a hit, and they gained even more popularity with their independent EP “Heathen,” which featured well-loved tracks like “Candy Eyes” and “Hellogoodbye.” They’ve performed at big music festivals like Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo and have supported artists like Milky Chance and Young The Giant.
