Alberta Cross and Band Of Skulls dropped their new joint track, “Crooked House.” Crafted by Petter Ericson Stakee of Alberta Cross, Russell Marsden of Band of Skulls, and the drummer for both groups, Marc MacNab-Jack, this song was brought to life in Mizpah Studios (Bath, UK). The mixing was done by Claudius Mittendorfer (known for working with Weezer, Interpol, Temples) in London, and the final touch came from John Webber during mastering.

Petter and Russell’s collaboration blend their shared rock and blues roots into a refreshing sound. “Crooked House” is a fusion of gritty, guitar-driven rock and Americana-tinged melodies.

Russell from the Band Of Skulls called the collaboration a meeting of like-minded individuals who created a song that is both vitriolic and cathartic, but with an optimistic message. “By meeting Petter and collaborating on this song, I feel we have done both,” he says. “This is Alberta very Cross, or an alternate universe Band of Skulls with an ethereal male co-vocalist. Thanks to being introduced by our mutual friend and drummer Marc, something unexpected has emerged. Crooked House is the place I want to smash to pieces, yet I’m proud to survive it.” Petter of Alberta Cross adds, “Such a pleasure to work with these two dudes after bumping into each other on the long road often in many different corners of the world for years. Crooked House just happened in front of us really, and I’m glad it did. Quite a beast of a rawk tune.”

Both Alberta Cross and Band of Skulls have built dedicated fan bases and achieved individual success. Despite their line-up changes, both bands have chosen to persist under their original names.

Band of Skulls, founded in 2006, boasts a discography with five studio albums and one live album to their name. Their songs have found a home in various TV shows and films, such as Gossip Girl and Twilight Saga. Alberta Cross, on the other hand, introduced their debut album to the world in 2009 and has since added four more studio albums to their repertoire. Alberta Cross has landed on several TV shows and movies, including Sons of Anarchy and the film Collateral.
