Join The Riot

Buzz Track: Us Against The Wall

Join The Riot, a Swedish 5 piece alt band have created a buzz with the infectious dance electro track ”Us against the wall”. The band is recording their debut album in a display window in the middle of the Swedish capital this month. They  built a studio in a glass box in Stockholm’s busiest streets and are spending the whole month working on the album in what they have named ‘A Glass Cage Of Emotions‘. Throughout the month passers-by can watch what’s going on through the many windows and even listen to their sessions via headphones on the street. We’ve been working on the album for a little over a year, and figured that when it came to recording it, collaborating with the Scandic Malmen hotel to promote its music profile at the same time as our new album, would be much better than renting an expensive studio,” says vocalist Henrik Ljungqvist.  They’ve performed venues and festivals in Sweden and in April toured China performing Music Midi Festival.

Tov Lo

Tove Lo says a rock star is expected to act like a mess, sound like a mess & look like a mess. People don’t expect you to show up on time and be professional. But when you’re a pop star, you have to do all that, look perfect and be a role model.

Pop stars like Taylor Swift spend hours putting on makeup before performing a show or even going to the gym. She is always anticipating a camera moment from either a fan or a paparazzi and she can never look a mess.

Buzz Track: Atlas Sky

Rebel Kites is making some noise with their own brand of folk rock. The London five piece garnered thousands of listens on Soundcloud in the first week of the release and the record received national airplay on BBC Radio and premiered on Indie Shuffle. The live show consists of an ensemble sharing over fifteen instruments on stage, and Rebel Kites’ dynamic, visual live show has risen through the London circuit, at venues such as Birthdays, The Finsbury, The Old Queen’s Head, Oxjam and many warehouse shows. Avaberée

Buzz Track: Can’t Get You Off My Mind

We’ve become a fan of the Brisbane trio Avaberée (aye-va-ber-ee). The new single “Can’t Get You Off My Mind” is a solemn & enigmatic classic that has Enya-esque melody. The song was crafted in Los Angeles with upcoming producer Tommy English (Ladyhawke, Borns) which comes off the forth coming EP, ‘In your arms I found my secrets’. Avaberée has toured the east coast of Australia supporting Matt Corby, Emma Louise, Will and The People, The Trouble With Templeton and Stu Larson. Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J says “This is really elegant and nodding pop music. The approach has obvious charm but it’s adorned simply enough to really make an impact with each listen.”
