Noak Hellsing releases “Get Real.” It blends midtempo pop, funk, disco, psychedelic pop, and pop rock ballad. There is something special about this song—the voice, the music. Go listen.

Noak Hellsing, a 20-year-old from Stockholm, has made a big impact on the Swedish pop scene. He’s known for songs like “Lost” (2019), “Good Enough” (2020), and “No Love” (2020), which have collectively amassed over 28 million streams. Growing up in a musical household, Noah started playing the guitar at five years old, thanks to his father’s influence.

Noak notes, “I mainly write about things I have experienced, but also about things in my surroundings. I want my music to be recognizable, and that is the general starting point. For me, melodic language and sound are just as important as the lyrics. And when it comes to lyrics I tend to dig in relationships. Not necessarily romantic relationships but all kinds of relationships.”

He also says “Writing songs for me is sometimes just a pure expression of my passion for music. Other times it’s more of a therapy session. I vent various feelings and experiences I have – or topics that are close to my heart. Then I turn them into pop songs that hopefully many others can relate to. The dream is that people all over the world will listen to my music and recognize themselves. That it will make life a little easier in the more difficult moments.”

The indie pop duo Flora Cash has released “I’m Tired.” I’ve always loved Flora Cash because they are one of the few that can make you feel something, and “I’m Tired” does just that. I am tired, everybody is tired. Who isn’t tired? It’s the state of the world.

Flora Cash, a musical duo consisting of a husband and wife, creates indie folk music with a dreamy atmosphere. Their unique journey began when they met on an online music platform back in 2012. Shpresa Lleshaj, hailing from Stockholm, traveled to Minneapolis to meet Cole Randall in person, sparking both a personal and musical connection. Upon returning to Sweden together, they officially formed Flora Cash and quickly released their debut EP, Mighty Fine. CONTINUE READING

Lo Lauren releases ‘Only One on Earth‘, a catchy pop song 2 1/2 minute pop tune. Earlier this year, her debut single ‘Never The One’ caught the attention of Radio 1’s Mollie King, Maia Beth, and Abbie McCarthy from BBC Introducing Kent. Now, Lo Lauren has released this fun pop track with a 2000s vibe, similar to Carly Rae Jepson’s style. Radio 1, Spotify, and Apple Music are supporting the song, and it recently made it to the top ten on the TikTok UK charts. It has also received praise from publications like Wonderland, Notion, NME, and PopJustice.

“For this video we wanted to hone in on me really feeling like the only one on earth. So we start in a deserted Simmons bar (a classic soho must!) before going outside where it’s giving major zombie apocalypse vibes. To be fair, I was a zombie during filming this as we literally had to get up at 3am to be able to film on an empty Oxford Street (hiring it out was kinda out of budget lol) but it was cool and surreal to see places that are usually so buzzing and full of life, so desolate. Same as for Never The One, it was proper DIY and so fun making this video – it literally consisted of me running around for 20 minutes while my bestie Sam captured as much footage as possible, before I edited it at home – which I’ve come to really enjoy!” You can watch the video here.

Through The Roots has released the infectious track “Fire Away.” It’s a fusion of reggae, hip-hop, and rap, and what makes it enjoyable is that this blend works seamlessly. If you’re a fan of all three genres, you will fall in love with this song. In fact, it has the potential to catch even those who haven’t listened to music in the last five years, and for very good reasons.

The five member band, Through The Roots, spent years writing songs and touring to find their unique music style, which combines reggae, hip-hop, rock, and electronic pop. They started by hosting small shows in their backyards in southern California, and their fan base grew over time. They even bought a renovated school bus to travel and perform at bigger venues, gradually building a larger fanbase.

Based in San Diego, they received guidance from other California reggae bands like Rebelution, who invited them to join nationwide tours. Through it all, the band continued to write and explore new sounds, blending tradition with technology. In 2019, they released their second album, “Arrival,” with LAW Records, and went on numerous tours to promote it. In July 2020, they joined Ineffable Records and released their new songs, “At Peace” featuring Lutan Fyah and the summer hit “Cool Down” featuring Pepper & Katastro, aiming to showcase their best work yet.

The band has upcoming shows in September at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, Harland Brewing in San Diego, CA, and Riverside, CA, supporting Badfish – A Tribute To Sublime.

Alt-pop up-and-comer Eden Rain makes a return with her latest track, ‘I Found My Brain’, that comes off the EP ‘But I’m Alright Now’. It has clever and dreamy lyrics and was created with producer Halfrhymes (known for Matilda Mann and Kings Elliot).

London based Eden says, “I found my brain ( last night, down the back of the sofa) – This song was written based partially on mine and partially on my friends’ dating stories. It’s about losing your brain, your identity, yourself, to fit into someone else’s view of you.”

Her latest release, ‘I Found My Brain,’ showcases a unique blend of homespun and personallyrics, a collaboration between Eden Rain and producer Halfrhymes, known for their work with artists like Matilda Mann and Kings Elliot.
