If you haven’t heard of singer-songwriter Tim Halperin, he has the #1 album on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts. Halperin also landed in the top 24 in last years American Idol and has shared the stage with Hot Chelle Ray, Cody Simpson, etc. The track The Last Song is a Kings favorite and it reminds us of The Fray.

The New Velvet is a Pop Rock group from New Jersey and is a Kings favorite. The debut album was released in September of 2011 and their sound is in the vein of The Beatles, Prince, Third Eye Blind, Coldplay and John Mayer. This 4 piece alt/pop act will perform at the Mercury Lounge (NYC) tonight – October 5th at 7:00pm.

This alternative act who draws comparisons to The Rolling Stones and Kings of Leon has shared the stage with The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, and Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights. They will headline the Roxy on October 5th.

I’m really liking Dirty Mags. This Toronto act who is touring the west coast offers a dose of distorted guitars, pounding drums, rumbling bass, and wailing vocals. This alternative 5 piece should have dubbed the tour Get Behind Me Jack White.
