adam

The music biz is ‘goo goo gaa gaa’ over Adam Lambert’s new single “Time For Miracles” claiming it’s a #1 smash. I don’t think it’s a bad song, but I don’t think it’s a great song. It could grow on me. Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing” is better. I still believe Lambert is one of the better entertainers that came from Idol. He gives it his all striking rock star poses ala Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury.

Producer Rob Cavallo says Lambert has a limitless range and is one of the best singers he ever worked with. Watch Cavallo interview here.

The hardest part for any idol artist is finding their sound since they typically don’t write their own songs. It’s the job of the producer to write songs or find songs that reflect the artist.

miranda

This is the official video for ‘Mowgli’s Road‘ by
Marina And The Diamonds. The video was directed by Chris Sweeney and Mowgli’s Road will be released through 679/Warner on
November 16th 2009. Don’t bother making a music video today unless it’s completely different. In fact, I watch about 10+ You Tube videos a day. That would be 70 videos a week and 3,640+ videos a year. Only a few videos will be memorable.

gaga

Lady Gaga just released the final version of her new single
Bad Romance and it’s fantastic. This track consists of the same ingredients that made Poker Face and Just Dance infectious. Gaga found her groove and she should stick with it throughout her entire career. Not only that, Gaga is the one of the few contemporary artists that trusts her own musical instincts and intuition.
