Connemara folk singer-songwriter, Me Auld Flower drops Girl In The Gloaming. You’ll love if you like atmospheric indie rock. I had to google Connemara. It’s a wilderness in western Ireland, and it seems like the place to get inspired.

“Making the videos for these songs was a labour of love” says the singer songwriter. “It allowed me to be present in these magical spaces in a way I had never really been before. I was getting up at four in the morning for sunrises, and tracking the light throughout the day as it dipped behind clouds and mountains. It was a joy to spend that time getting to know this land more intimately, particularly as there were very few people around due to the lockdown. It was like having Disneyland to myself. I felt blessed to be living in a place with such splendour and solitude on my doorstep.”

The track comes off The Vaults of Consciousness, Vol. II which will release on November 26th.

Is it the rise of the indie acts? Music is gaining edge again. Italian rock band Måneskin is the hottest thing out today and indie acts like The Technicolors only make the landscape more colorful and thriving. Check out their new track Howl that comes off their album ‘Cinema Sublimina’. You’ll like if you love 90’s Britpop like Oasis.

The Arizona  performed alongside Matt Maeson, The Maine, Turnover, The Wrecks and Psychedelic Furs. The band has garnered support from CLASH, Paste, doNYC, Audiotree, and have found themselves on Spotify playlists “All New Rock” and “Modern Rock”

Don’t overlook Valley Boy and the track Disgusting, especially if you love electropop, art pop, and indie rock. The track easy fits in the ranks of Spotify’s Indie Rock Club.

“Disgusting” is a love story about being embraced for the parts of ourselves that we generally hide from the world. It starts with “I’ll let you in on a secret, One I been keeping since I was five years old I pick my nose, and I eat it I tell you and you still wanna kiss me”.

Lyrically, it’s reminiscent of Twenty One Pilots Blurryface, but more dark and dirty, and yes disgusting.

The duo is made up of best friends James Ghaleb and Ian Meltzer. They draw from their experiences from addiction to attempted suicide which supply fuel to their creative journey. Give it a stream on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.

What comes good come out South Africa?  That would be Cape Town’s Tyler Page. She released the electro pop and synth track ‘Teenage Werewolf’.

It’s reminiscence of the 80s. Think Dua Lipa “Bad Future” era. The track could find a home on Spotify’s Indie Pop Playlist or Apple’s Alt Pop.

Tyler notes, “Teenage Werewolf’ is a crazy weird song and definitely one of my favorites – A type of romance out of a horror movie, the type of love you are willing to kill for. The song aims to transport you into an 80s fantasy horror romance where anything is possible – even falling in love with a werewolf and becoming one.”

Stream the track on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.
