EARTH2ZOE, an indie pop artist hailing from Toronto, has just dropped her latest track, “LAME‘,” which is sure to resonate with fans of electro pop. If you’re into Gayle colliding with the vibes of Billie Eilish, you’ll love the track.

Regarding her most recent single, earth2zoe shares, “The creation of ‘lame’ unfolded rapidly after I uncovered a painful truth. My boyfriend messaged me with a text that went something like, ‘Babe, I have this major business thing tonight, but I promise to make it up to you.’ Consequently, I found myself stranded at home on Valentine’s Day, consumed by boredom. It was then that I plunged headfirst into the realm of social media, doing what we all tend to do—scrolling through profiles. In the process, I stumbled upon the social media posts of a familiar face from my past. Astonishingly, a picture uploaded just five minutes ago depicted my boyfriend and this individual sharing a luxurious dinner at a high-end restaurant. Talk about serendipity, right? In that precise moment, fueled by a whirlwind of anger and heartache, I seized my guitar and commenced the composition of the initial verse of ‘Lame.’ In a burst of creative energy, I urgently reached out to my producer, and within an hour, the song took shape. Rather than firing off a message to my less-than-honorable ex, the lyrics flowed out of me in their raw and unfiltered form.” CONTINUE READING

Hailing from New York City, the 22-year-old Zoe Ko has released her new single Rib Cage. The track follows Zoe’s recent hits like “Petri Dish” and “Fire Escape”.

In this track, Zoe delves into the theme of homesickness, not for a physical house but for a person who becomes a comforting presence akin to home. Having experienced frequent relocations and the upheaval of divorce as a child, Zoe associated the feeling of being homesick with individuals she cherished. Now, with a partner in her life, she explores the process of finding a home in someone else and how it has helped her reconcile with her past.

Zoe’s journey into music began as a source of solace during her childhood. Writing a song for her late grandfather and performing it at his funeral marked the turning point where she began channeling her life’s experiences into music. After years of exploration, particularly during the isolation of the pandemic, Zoe honed her craft and discovered her unique sound, influenced by artists like Gwen Stefani, Paramore, and Wet Leg.

Her debut single, “Line,” quickly garnered attention, making it onto Spotify editorial playlists, and she has since seen success with several other releases, earning spots on coveted playlists like Spotify’s New Music Friday and Fresh Finds.

Amelie Jat has just released her latest single, “2028,” which features 80’s-inspired synths and dancey four-on-the-floor drums. This marks a departure from her usual pop-punk style, where she drew inspiration from artists like Avril Lavigne, Maggie Lindemann, and LØLØ. With “2028,” Jat presents a more layered and emotionally rich sound, moving away from the simple 2000’s throwback.

The sparkling production on “2028” is the work of James McMillan, a long-time collaborator and Emmy-nominated producer, with whom she previously worked on successful hits like “my band hates you!,” “Therapy,” and “Faking Parties.” Together, they created a  sound that complemented Jat’s diary-like lyrics and ability to craft cutting phrases.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Amelie Jat began her musical journey with bedroom pop production and has now transitioned into the pop-punk universe, influenced by artists such as Maggie Lindemann, Avril Lavigne, and LØLØ. As a multi-instrumentalist, she started songwriting at  11, and she has since become a verified artist with the hope of connecting with people through her music. CONTINUE READING
