Is it the rise of the indie acts? Music is gaining edge again. Italian rock band Måneskin is the hottest thing out today and indie acts like The Technicolors only make the landscape more colorful and thriving. Check out their new track Howl that comes off their album ‘Cinema Sublimina’. You’ll like if you love 90’s Britpop like Oasis.

The Arizona performed alongside Matt Maeson, The Maine, Turnover, The Wrecks and Psychedelic Furs. The band has garnered support from CLASH, Paste, doNYC, Audiotree, and have found themselves on Spotify playlists “All New Rock” and “Modern Rock”

Don’t overlook Valley Boy and the track Disgusting, especially if you love electropop, art pop, and indie rock. The track easy fits in the ranks of Spotify’s Indie Rock Club.

“Disgusting” is a love story about being embraced for the parts of ourselves that we generally hide from the world. It starts with “I’ll let you in on a secret, One I been keeping since I was five years old I pick my nose, and I eat it I tell you and you still wanna kiss me”.

Lyrically, it’s reminiscent of Twenty One Pilots Blurryface, but more dark and dirty, and yes disgusting.

The duo is made up of best friends James Ghaleb and Ian Meltzer. They draw from their experiences from addiction to attempted suicide which supply fuel to their creative journey. Give it a stream on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.

What comes good come out South Africa? That would be Cape Town’s Tyler Page. She released the electro pop and synth track ‘Teenage Werewolf’.

It’s reminiscence of the 80s. Think Dua Lipa “Bad Future” era. The track could find a home on Spotify’s Indie Pop Playlist or Apple’s Alt Pop.

Tyler notes, “Teenage Werewolf’ is a crazy weird song and definitely one of my favorites – A type of romance out of a horror movie, the type of love you are willing to kill for. The song aims to transport you into an 80s fantasy horror romance where anything is possible – even falling in love with a werewolf and becoming one.”

Look of out for 24 year old LA based Noah Elliot and the track Undone. You’ll like if you love pop an r&b. That song could find a home in Spotify Chill Vibes Playlist or Apple’s Heartbreak Pop.

He started releasing singles off the EP, clocking over 250k Spotify listens and praise from Live Nation’s Ones To Watch.

In describing the writing process, the Oregon native says this, “Writing isn’t easy for me. It rarely feels magical. It’s usually very challenging. But I write tons of songs and most of them will never see the light of day.”

I really like Take It All by London based indie singer songwriter AJ Wander. The track was produced by co-writer Gethin Williams alongside Brad Mair (Dean Lewis, Jamie Cullum, Kygo). You’ll like if you love big anthemic indie pop in the vein of Gavin DeGraw, Tom Walker, and Banners.

AJ wander says, “Take It all is me learning to let go, reminding myself not to get distracted by glimpses of light amongst the darkness. It’s a moment of remembering my self-worth and gaining perspective on a toxic situation.”

His previous tracks have landed on Spotify’s Alone Again, Fresh Finds, and Heartbreak.
