Watch out for LA-based singer-songwriter Elizabeth Woolf and her new album “Till It’s Dark Outside”. She’s a story teller and these albums take a longer to complete. It took 3 years to put the album together. Elizabeth notes, “One of my artistic heroes, Lianne La Havas recently released an album that took her five years”. Check out the track Valencia. Elizabeth says, “It’s a song about getting closure from a past relationship, inspired by a phrase my father told me “all relationships are unresolved”. It started on acoustic guitar after a trip to San Francisco”. Give it a stream on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.

Anyone hear of Zoe Wees and the track Control? She is based in Germany and the latest track was written about her battle with epilepsy. She has a pretty amazing voice, she conveys her feelings in her voice, and a unique vocal nevertheless. Since its release in March, the song has charted on Spotify’s Viral 50 in dozens of countries. In fact, Zoe was picked to represent Germany in Spotify’s global emerging artist program, RADAR, a program that helps artists broaden their fan bases via playlists and other initiatives. Let’s get this amazing artist outta Germany and here in America.

London Electropop Zoe Wakelam dropped her third single ‘Self-Talk‘. Like her previous singles, it’s raw, honest and a bit experimental – but very listenable. The Aussie born singer songwriter who now lives in the UK draws inspiration from FINNEAS, twenty øne piløts, half•alive, Wallows and Billie Eilish. Zoe notes the song was written in early in 2020, after a time of life decisions, change, doubt, and anxiety. ‘Lately I’ve been a mess, and it’s kinda hard to confess’, is the first line. Give it a stream.

UK’s Becky Hill released her new single and videoSpace”. The track comes off her debut studio album out on March 19, 2021. She definitely has that big powerhouse vocal which you don’t hear too much today. It’s all about the Eilish whisper right now. The 26 year old made a name for herself after a good run on the UK’s Voice in 2012, but not a household name. TV’s talent shows don’t produce stars but she started writing songs for other artists and had her in hand in many dance floor fillers.
She signed to Polydor in 2017 and scored her first hit single ‘Better Off Without You’. I like Becky because she’s isn’t about being the queen of social media. It’s all about performance and the vocal.

“I enjoy writing music, I enjoy performing, but I’ve always felt like it’s quite a nasty environment – social media, generally.” says Becky.
And Becky admitted, “Yeah, no I can’t do TikTok challenges!”
“And if I had it my way, I would never look at TikTok. It would never be invented! But here we are.”

Watch out for Speelburg and the debut album Porsche that he released via his own Sophomore Slump/Kartel Music Group. Before you dig into the album just start with the newly released video “Gwyneth (Get Up!)”. He’s kinda funny with minimal effort and could probably have a successful career at comedy if the music gig doesn’t take off. But having colorful career thus far, he’s on the up. He landed on the cover of Spotify’s Alt. Pop. playlist as well as receiving the praises from Noisey, Ones To Watch, The Line of Best Fit, Pigeons & Planes, Clash Magazine. The latest album was written and produced by Speelburg and mixed by Ben H. Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective, Kaiser Chiefs).
