Indie act KYTES releases a uptempo 80ish inspired track Runaway. It has a memorable anthem and it sounds like a sleeper hit, reminiscent of lovelytheband’s broken or Neon Trees ‘Animal’. The band has performed more than 250 shows to date including SXSW and music festivals – The Great Escape, Frequency, and Melt! The indie 4 piece has had an illustrious past – landing on top of the Hype Machine charts, a sold out European tour, and racking up millions of streams. Give the track a stream.

Zachary Knowles released a new track ‘Cherry Wine‘ that I really like. Having released a few singles, I think he is finding his own sound, and it’s his best song yet.

Knowles says: “The meaning behind “Cherry Wine” is super personal. I wrote about what life looked like before I was dating the girl I love. Before we started dating I was crazy about her (at the age of 14 haha that’s crazy to say) but didn’t know if she felt the same. I wanted to capture what that time of my life felt like.”

The Houston, TX has been releasing his music through Fader. The 20 year old bedroom artist began releasing songs on SoundCloud before releasing his first EP as a freshman in college at Texas A&M. Check out the track on our Indie Invaders Playlist.

I can’t say it enough how much I like singer-songwriter Clide. The 20 year old first caught my attention with Broken Parts while his new single Lost sealed the deal, and now I’m a fan. This is the third release from the Berlin based singer-songwriter. Sonically he is close to Lauv and James Arthur. Give the track a stream on our Indie Invaders Playlist.

The promising up and coming producer Mokita drops the Take It Back. The track also has Ella Vos on vocals. The Nashville based singer-producer whose real name is John-Luke Carter has quietly clocked over 100 Million streams on Spotify while his remixes of Demi Lovato and Maggie Rogers have done quite well. In a recent interview Mokita notes, “I just want to be known as someone who was an honest person, and a nice person that loves people well” – “Once you get down to legacy, I don’t really even care about the music.” Today, more than ever we want relatability. Give the song a stream.

I Love You I’m Sorry by Mel Bryant & the Mercy Makers got stuck in my head. The track would be a favorite on your local alternative station in the 90’s. Maybe it would reach the top 5, sandwiched between Ben Folds Five ‘Brick’ and Cracker’s ‘Low’. I have to give props to those acts who are steadfast in resurrecting the nineties. Who doesn’t have a soft spot for the alternative rock of that era? The 4 piece indie act resides in Nashville. The band moved from Philly and New York to settle in East Nashville where they run their own recording studio. They are working on their debut album.
