Salvation is really good track as well as the video from The Strumbellas. The new single which comes off their forthcoming album is sitting at #12 on the Alt Rock chart in Canada. The album was produced Tim Pagnotta (Elle King, Walk the Moon) and co-produced by Brian Phillips. Moreover, the 6 piece alternative act grabbed the iHeartRadio Music award for Best New Alternative Rock Artist of the Year, and won the JUNO Award for Single of the Year. “Everything we put out is genuine,” says Ward. “I want 10 million people to sing these songs in my lifetime and I can be there to sing it with them in the crowd, on the same level. I just want everyone to believe in it and love it and be part of the journey.” Check it out.
You might like Texting You by Petrie. With a bedroom raw production, the track grows on you with each listen. The London duo reveals how the track came about, “well it was a beat poem, then a jazz ballad, then a sorta fruity bop and then eventually we decided to fuse the styles of Dolly Parton and Not3s and write a torch song for the risky text with more than a sprinkling of neuroticism. The latest track comes off their forthcoming debut album Superstore. Give it a stream.
Yacht Punk, a 4 piece alternative rock act releases the uptempo New Wave Denier. Think The Strokes meets Arctic Monkeys. The band worked with producer Matt Wignall’s (Cold War Kids) and Will Brierre (The Killers). The band’s previous single “Need a Reason” was featured on Spotify’s New Noise and Fresh Finds playlists. When asked in a recent interview, “Why should people listen to Yacht Punk?” – the lead singer notes, “If said people are loving popular music right now, they probably shouldn’t.” Give it a listen.
I really like the video for End of the Night by pop singer-songwriter Taylor Noelle. With influences ranging from from Fleetwood Mac & HAIM to Daniel Caesar & SZA, Noelle blends pop and R&B. She was born and raised in LA, and is the daughter of the well-known Charles Esten. She’ll embark on a college tour that will run through the South East. Check it out.
Halifax-based producer, DJ and EDM artist, Famba drops a remix of his track Wish You Well. The track which features vocals from LA’s songwriter Trove blends EDM and dream prop.
