Jessica Laws releases the new single Break Me Down. It’s a strong track that follows her debut single Liar. Influenced by Pink, Demi Lovato, and Sia – Jessica tells Kings, “People will always break you down and don’t truly want to see you succeed, but the moment you realize your self worth, you won’t take that anymore. Spending 3 to 4 nights of the week performing covers, she wants to be known for her originals. Jessica tells us, “I want my songs on the radio and having a number 1 hit even it takes a while”. Give it a listen.

Liverpool-based singer/songwriter and guitar virtuoso Ben Hughes also known as Tall Children released the funky track ‘Be With Me‘ as well as the video showcasing a string of live performances. Having shared the stage with Paul McCartney, his debut single Song For You landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday and garnered support BBC Introducing. Ben tells Kings, “Be With Me is a song that totally encapsulates what I’m about. It’s about Pop done in an interesting way – bringing organic instruments and the electronic together and wrapping it in a big ball of fun. I feel like ‘Be With Me’ has achieved things as a single that perhaps a straighter run-of-the-mill tune would not. I’m essentially laying the groundwork to show that yes, Pop is fun, but it can also have sharper edges and few curve balls and go places you wouldn’t normally go, if you know how to get there!” Give it a stream!

Thank you everyone, this just the mf beginning!”

Alternative pop act Whale City recently released the single Daylight. It’s a solid track reminiscent of Coldplay. Without a doubt, Andy the singer has a great voice. The band tells Kings, “Just because something can not go on does not mean that it wasn’t worth it.” That’s why Daylight sounds melancholy but never pessimistic.” This is the second single release which follows their debut single Echo of Joy. The band is starting to garner press with mentions in Music Injection Popmuzik. Popular DJ duo Stereoact released a remix of Echo of Joy, which charted on the German Dance Charts. The band is currently booked for a club tour. Check it out!

Natalie Lynn, a Toronto based pop/rock artist, recently released her debut single One. It’s a solid uptempo track, a nice change from the gloomy-sad songs dominating the charts. Natalie says “it’s like the feeling of being at the top of a roller coaster. Not the part when you actually start going down, but right before that. Pure excitement and vulnerability. The feeling like you might just be on the top of the world.” Pulling influence from Stevie Nicks, Haim and The 1975, her sounds connects the dots between pop, indie, and rock. You can check her out on the Rad To Riverfest Tour that begins on 4/27 at Elora Brewing Co. Give the track a stream.
