West Without

Indie alt band Baton Rouge West Without just released a new EP. The lead off single ‘Slow’ which isn’t slow, but a more uptempo and updated version of Coldplay, but still very much original with its unique blend of harmonies and a danceable electro beat. As far as the recording process Alex Holeman, bass/vocals notes “We probably went into the studio with 15 or 20 songs and song ideas and whittled it down to seven or eight that ended up being recorded and out of those some of them were rearranged and reproduced several times and then out of those we have the five songs that made the album.” They have performed alongside with Plain White Ts, Panic! at the Disco, and Cher Lloyd.

CLAVVS

Atlanta indie-electro act ClAVVS premieres the new song ‘All I Got‘ featuring Yirayah. The track was written by CLAVVS and Atlanta artist Yirayah. Like their previous singles, “All I Got” is a spacey electro anthem layered in synths and a memorable verse-chorus. The duo notes “It started out as a bet to write a song in an hour, but then it turned into a powerful song about magic and existence and impermanence. Definitely not what anyone expected, but that’s the point I think.”

Cemetery Sun

LA’s Cemetery Sun has released a new song ‘Wish It Was Love‘ and video from their forthcoming EP scheduled for an early 2016 release. There is a big open space for a good band in the alternative rock scene and Cemetery Sun is filling that spot. They got traction with the last single (Hard Drugs) Fake Love and their new offering is just as catchy with its strong chorus and harmonies. The band recently partnered with Alterntive Press for the video premier and says this about the new single “Relationships can be toxic and deceiving. This song is about one of those relationships in which both parties want to make it work — but just can’t seem to.”

Jake Tavill

NYC singer-songwriter Jake Tavill who impressed with his album “Indigo Child” and is working on the much anticipated sophomore release. Having just wrapped performing CMJ, he has a bunch of shows lined up at SXSW. The track ‘It’d Be a Crime‘ incorporates horns, a marching snare, a unique Passenger-esque vocal, along with a hooky melody line. Tavill has a fresh sound, yet a vintage sound and is absolutely onto something.
