waxhead

Kings favorite Waxhead are gearing up to release the new EP, ‘Home’ which will be available in April. So far they have released the singles Home and Walking On Air. They have toured Australia, Japan and Indonesia, as well as playing festivals such as Falls Festival and Byron Bay Blues Festival. Happy says “Waxhead are most definitely a band to keep an ear out for. Already featured on triple J’s Unearthed, and with the release of their debut EP, there will undoubtedly be big things to come for the guys in 2015”. The new tracks are raw & catchy and will surely capture the fans of the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, & The Kooks. Make no mistake though, Waxhead are forging their own path and could soon rise to the top of the indie pack.

New Arcades

Buzz Track: Let’s Get Away

New Arcades hail from London and are Dean Canty and Adam Sullivan, a duo inspired by nostalgic memories of 80’s cinema and vintage synth sounds. They recently made Drive Radio top 10 and they have been featured in Clash Magazine as well as Sugarbang. The new track “Let’s Get Away” is a well crafted 80’s anthem that will hook you instantly.

Freedom Fry

Kings favorite Freedom Fry has just released a new song “Yeah You”. It’s #13 on the Hype Machine and I Heart Moosiq says “Yeah You is a charming, heart warming, and mellifluous song, gleaming with such ebullient rays of optimistic sunshine and soothing with twangy, lulling harmonies.” KickKickSnare says “Yeah You,” to us, is the sound of the feeling you get when you’re falling in love. Minus all the sappy bits and with a little four-on-the-floor kick drum and mandolin.”You can check them out live at SXSW. Freedom Fry is an artist to watch.

MidnightBoy

Buzz Track: Don’t Say No

Midnight Boy’s Don’t Say No” was sitting on #5 on the iTunes Singles Chart in Sweden. Midnight Boy is aesthetically and sonically time warped from the 80’s. In 2013, Midnight Boy released his debut single “Roll With It” by 100SONGS and the Sequel, “When You’re Strange”. This took him on a mini-tour in Los Angeles. During 2014 Midnight Boy worked with popular producers/writers such as Tony Kanal (From No Doubt), Jimmy Harry (Pink,Britney Spears), Jean-Baptiste (Madonna, Rihana, Nicki Minaj). BitCandy says this “I still can’t quite tell if new artist Midnight Boy is serious or not, and I’m not really sure if it matters. This group is unlike anything to have graced music in decades – I can’t decide if Midnight Boy is parodying the 80s or just straight up living in them. If this is an homage, it is the most sincere and thoughtfully crafted homage I’ve seen in a long time. The simple fact of the matter is that the music is good, and I normally can’t stand a note of highly synthesized, skin-deep 80s pop. Midnight Boy sells it, and they sell it hard.” Midnight Boy is an artist to watch.
