Key Track: Protect Your Silence

The Story: The band is currently touring independently to promote their new EP which was produced by Justin Thomas and Brett Hestla. This Richmond, VA 3 piece rock act has shared the stage with Papa Roach, Seether, Sick Puppies, etc. The track Protect Your Silence could find a place on the rock charts.

Key Track: Ashamed

The Story: The acoustic pop act Jamestown Story wasn’t on my radar but that’s not surprising since new music is released every 60 seconds. I immediately fell in love with the track Ashamed which was featured on two different episodes of MTV’s hit show Jersey Shore. Since 2007, the band has sold 150,000 songs on iTunes and over 17,000 full-length CD’s since 2003. This pop duo easily fits between Dashboard Confessional and John Mayer.

The MTV VMA’s scored a record audience. In fact, it attracted 12 million viewers. As to why MTV scored its biggest ratings to date remains a mystery. In my opinion, the hit show “The Jersey Shore” and Hurricane Irene kept people inside.

The biggest news that follows the MTV VMA’s is Lady Gaga’s copying Annie Lennox’s gender bender performance from 1984.

Regardless, MTV VMA’s has morphed into scripted reality television and it’s paying off.
