Ed Sheeran announced that he would be taking a break from music after two years of touring. He is probably exhausted. Aside from wrapping up the highest grossing tour in history, he is faced with two legal battles. He has a scheduled court date over allegations that he stole Marvin Gaye’s hit “Let’s Get It On”. He also has been blocked from royalties for his smash “Shape of You”.
The breakthrough artist this year is crooner Lewis Capaldi. Most importantly, he broke with a power balled, just a piano and a vocal. His track is sitting at #14 on the U.S. top 40 charts, but it’s also a worldwide smash. The song has been on Singapore’s Top 10 music charts since July 2019. He will make his debut Singapore appearance and will perform at the 1,000 capacity Capitol Theatre on Jan 11, 2020.

Eminem’s publisher Eight Mile Style has filed a lawsuit claiming Spotify has infringed hundreds of song copyrights.
Eminem accuses Spotify of copyright infringement by reproducing the track “Lose Yourself” on its service causing potentially billions of dollars in damages. The suit also targets Spotify claiming it has failed to live up to the Music Modernization Act. The MMA is a federal law past by President Trump which was to improve how music licensing and royalties would be paid to songwriters.
The suit claims that Spotify has no license for Eminem’s songs and has not paid for the songs other a few payments of some sort.
