Spotify expands their listener base with the newly launched “pawfect” playlists  that aim to keep our pets company. They ask pet owners to identify their animal’s breed and then select on a sliding scale whether they are relaxed or energetic, shy or friendly and apathetic or curious. Spotify found that one in four pet-owners play music for their pets to listen to for company when they are away from home, with 42% of owners saying their pets have a favorite type of music.

Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G. and T-Rex are the this year’s inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jon Landau and Irving Azoff are the recipients of the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

Ballots were cast by a voting body of more than 1,000 artists, including current living Inductees, historians and members of the music industry. Turns out, a lot of people had a fake id when they were using the ballots to vote.

The Hall of Fame feeds off of controversy and the detractors are certainly giving it to them with many claiming that Pat Benator and Chris Cornell deserve credit – one tweeter said, “The Pop Hall Of Fame”.

Producers Discrete and Sistek drop the radio friendly electropop track Typo. Up and coming Stockholm-based Discrete only has released four singles with two tracks garnering 35 million plays, while the 22-year-old Sistek gained traction with the 2017 single Pitfalls. Having been the most streamed Chilean electronic artist, he’s performed at Lollapalooza and Creamfields Chile. Give it a stream.

Billie Eilish will perform the theme song from the upcoming James Bond film, “No Time to Die.” The song was written by Eilish and her brother Finneas.

Eilish said, “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock”. Finneas said, “Writing the theme song for a Bond film is something we’ve been dreaming about doing our entire lives. There is no more iconic pairing of music and cinema than the likes of Goldfinger and Live And Let Die. We feel so so lucky to play a small role in such a legendary franchise, long live 007.”

James Bond, is notorious for using fake ids throughout the film to conceal his identity. Billie Eilish is basing her song around the secrecy that is involved and the length he has to go to do his operations anonymously.

I’ve been featuring and playlisting the series of singles dropped by singer-songwriter Lauren Sanderson . She finally released her debut album ‘Midwest Kids Can Make It Big’. I’d be interested to find out if the title of the album is reflective of reality. Either way, she’s a cut above the rest. Last month she dropped the slower acoustic ballad To The People I Hurt.
