Jared & The Mill drops the new track Dying Fear. It blends folk, bluegrass, and alternative – in the vein of The Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons. As far as the new song, the band tells Kings, “Letting go of a past love is hard, especially one that you held in any sort of formative time period. This alternative act has several releases under their belt and they finally sound like seasoned writers and performers. Dying Fear is just that, coming to terms with letting something go that carries so much energy from you.” They band will tour in March, April and May that starts in the Midwest, takes them to the East Coast, and ends in the West Coast. The latest single comes off their new album “This Story Is No Longer” which drops on February 15th.

I really like You Like Me by Yaeger. She first made waves with her single Ocean that drew attention from blogs like The Line Of Best Fit, FAME Magazine and Radar Collective. The 20 year old Swedish singer-songwriter tells Kings, “I like to create scenarios with my music, based on either my own experience or my friends experiences. That’s what I’ve done with You Like Me. This scenario is built on the feeling of a winter in Stockholm that lasted forever, where you were chasing a love that felt so close but still so far”. Give it a listen. emil@birdswillsingforyou.com

Kings favorite Lucy Daydream dropped the new track Dizzy, a dreamy indie anthem. The duo tells Kings, “The song is finding a sense of peace.  When you just let all of your thoughts out in the open, and don’t control them. You just let them be, let yourself feel it all, and live.  The track also landed on Apple’s Alt Pop Playlist. Before crafting original songs in a basement studio, the indie pop duo began posting music covers.  Post Malone’s ‘Go Flex‘ which was one of their first covers clocked over 2 million YouTube streams. Look out for James Smith’s new track Tell Me That You Love Me. In the vein of John Legend’s All Of Me, it sounds like an adult contemporary smash. The UK singer-songwriter released his debut EP Little while the title track garnered over 3 million streams. The latest track which was co-written and produced by James was inspired by a heartbreak. James reveals, “It was inspired by my first heartbreak, something I didn’t want to happen but it was inevitable, it’s the story of our last couple of days together, ‘pretending it’s all alright’. Hearing the band & gospel choir for the first time completely blew my mind”. Give it a stream.

This biggest pop artist right now is Lauren Daigle. In fact, the Louisiana girl landed her first top 40 hit with You Say. She’s unique because she was never backed by a big machine with big budgets for press, celebrity endorsements, advertisements, and other media companies. She built an audience through performing and releasing thought provoking songs that people connect too, influencing a new generation of females.

Upon the release of You Say, we posted an article ‘Lauren Daigle Ready For Domination‘. Now, she’s more than ready. It’s full takeover status. It just comes down to a few big market radio stations jumping on board. Why haven’t they? The good new is Warner Bros. is promoting the song to pop formats, while Centricity continues to work it to Christian radio according to Billboard.

Here is why top 40 radio needs to embrace Lauren Daigle.

You Say has clocked over 115 million on-demand U.S. audio and video streams combined and sold 368,000 downloads to date.
