Alibis

Lots of cool artists coming out of London as of late. I like the duo Alibis, a collabortation between friends Richie Skint and Harvey Lee.

Having been raised on Otis Redding & The Clash, the indie duo shines on the new track Therapy which is taken from bands new EP via Blue Flowers. Produced by Cam Blackwood (George Ezra, London Grammar), the band has opened for The Strokes, recently played a packed show at The Social, gaining support by BBC Introducing.

Check the South London duo at Live At Leeds Festival on April 30th.

Kyko

Up and coming KYKO from South London is creating a buzz with his latest track Native. KYKO is the 19 year old indie pop singer-songwriter Scott Verrill.

He is quickly mastering the craft of production & songwriting. Verrill is well on his way with a Radio 1 playlist spot and support from tastemakers 405, TMRW and WTGR.

He started winning audiences over with the single ‘Pull Me Up’ which was released in late 2015, clocking over one million streams, making Spotify US’s ‘New Music Friday’ playlist and the ‘Top 10 Global Viral’ charts.

Check out the artsy Native video and catch KYKO’s one night only performance on 5/1 at Notting Hill Arts Club.

Papa Ya

Meet Papa Ya, the coming together of two producer/songwriters. The production team approaches music haphazardly. According to the duo, they are just two dudes from Los Angeles inspired to make happy music for Vegas pool parties and tropical beach chillin’. In all seriousness, they are starting to blow things up.

Having met at University of Oregon, roommates Nate and Alex began formulating a sound and crafting ‘feel good’ songs. Nate has spent time honing in his skills under the guide of hit songwriter Sam Martin, landing vocal production credits on hit songs Want To Want Me by Jason Derulo and Dirty Mind by Flo Rida. On the other band, the productions by Alex have been supported by The Chainsmokers & Mako, while his remixes have climbed to the top of the HypeM charts and racked in over a million plays.

Listen to the debut track Fine Livin’ which has already garnered 160k+ SoundCloud streams in 11 days. Check back for updates.

Violet Days

Singer-songwriter Lina Hansson who goes under the name Violet Days is back with a new single ‘Your Girl‘. She says “I guess this song is my way of saying that sometimes you need to feel like you´re more than just enough for someone. That you want to feel special and deserve not to be taken for granted.”

The Stockholm alternative pop act have built a following beginning with the release of “So Dope” in 2015 which has reached over half a million streams on Spotify.

Blue skies are on the horizon for Lina whereas she signed publishing deal with Selector/Sony ATV US and The Chainsmokers have an upcoming single featuring Violet Days.

Mayve

Fresh on the scene MAYVE are making some waves. The bands beginning as a three piece was spotty, but as they added members, they solidified their sound and then created the much talked about EP Animals.

The 5 song EP was recorded with the former engineer of the Cutting Room Studios. The highly blogged tracks Hearts On Fire & West Coast have been compared to the likes of Passion Pit. Making no apologies, the New York 5 piece carries the torch of 80s U.K. synth-pop.

With a new EP planned for a summer release, you can check out these indie rockers Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on April 29th.
