Melbourne-based artist Imogen Clark is releasing a new album called “The Art of Getting Through” on May 31. You can preorder it now. The latest single, “All Hard Feelings,” is a country-flavored rock track and follows her first single, “If I Want In.”

Imogen recorded the album in different places like Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Melbourne, and Nashville. The album is about dealing with life’s challenges and moving forward.

Each month leading up to the release, Imogen will share a new track. ‘All Hard Feelings’ was written in Nashville with friends, and it’s a rock jam featuring talented musicians.

Imogen Clark says, “When I rocked up at Sinead and Blake’s apartment to write this song, I’d had a bit of a week. Someone had f**ked me over and I resented how much it was getting to me,” Imogen recalls. “We decided to put that energy into a song about how I have never really gotten over anything in my whole life. I saw a meme once that said ‘Taylor Swift has never shaken anything off’ and I thought ‘Same queen’. It’s a really fun tune that also lets me burn off some of that bitter energy in a cathartic way”.

Liverpool’s pop singer-songwriter, Michael Nelson, known as BANNERS, releases a refreshing perspective on societal expectations in his latest track, “Perfectly Broken (Duet Version).” Collaborating with the soulful vocals of Lily Meola, a standout from America’s Got Talent, the song delves into the impact of media-driven ideals.

The well crafted production serves as a reflection on self-image, urging listeners to embrace their imperfections and view them as unique qualities that set individuals apart. The track, a teaser from BANNERS’ upcoming album, “All Back to Mine,” captivates with its mesmerizing vocals and lush sonic landscape.

Describing the collaboration, BANNERS expresses, “It’s a song about two halves coming together to create one beautiful thing, and that’s what she’s done. I didn’t know the song needed it until I heard her voice, but now I think ‘Perfectly Broken’ would feel a little lost without her. She’s brought a beautiful, raw emotion that adds a whole new layer of meaning. I love the new dimension she’s brought to it. I was already really proud of ‘Perfectly Broken,’ and now I love it even more.” This duet version adds depth and emotion, elevating the original track to new heights. Listen to She Is Jules and her new song “Sick of Self Love.” If you enjoy Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift, you’ll love this well-crafted indie pop tune!

The song talks about a person who’s tired of sad love songs because they remind them of a past relationship. They just want to turn off the radio to stop thinking about it. It’s a song for anyone who’s been through a tough breakup.

Julianna Pollifrone started playing the guitar at 8 and now, in 2023, her music has over 120 million streams on Spotify. You might recognize her voice from the cover of “Mad World” by Timmy Trumpet and Gabry Ponte. Inspired by artists like Julia Michaels and Taylor Swift, she’s an electropop artist gearing up to drop her new song, “Sick of Self Love,” in October 2023. Check it out on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.

Watch out for Silvertone Hills and the new song “Free Me.” Reminiscent of early 2000s pop and alternative rock from the underground scene, the new release is part of the deluxe version of Silvertone Hills’ debut LP, “Limits.”

The band says, “Free Me almost started out as a joke lyrical exercise just to get the words flowing, talking about getting frustrated during lockdown “we never could’ve seen it,” etc. Once I started getting deeper into it, it become more of an anthem for escape, from personal burdens and learning to let go. Like most of our songs, we try and make a catchy/melodic resolve in the chorus, so you can really feel the frustration boiling over by the time Liam belts the chorus.”

Silvertone Hills released their first album, “Limits,” on October 20th. The album showcases the band’s diverse influences, ranging from ‘90s British melodies to ‘60s ballads with some psychedelic twists. The songs are short, well-produced, and feature memorable melodies with elements like guitars and synthesizers. The lyrics cover themes like defiance in the rock songs, love in the pop tunes, and reflections on faith and morality in the moody ballads.

Producer Zach Gerber, known for his work with Walk off the Earth and USS, helped the band select their best material from nearly 40 songs. The tracks are concise, leading quickly to the chorus, making you want to hit replay. The album has already been featured on Spotify’s “Ready to Rock” playlist, played on campus radio stations across Canada, and covered by Exclaim!, The Edge, and more.

Check out PrettyUgly’s latest track “LALALA” for a burst of attitude. It’s like Billie Eilish meets Lorde. Produced by Liam Jones (The Line) and mixed by Mark Needham (Fleetwood Mac, The Killers, Elton John).

Meet Pretty Ugly, a newly announced three-piece outfit that brings a bit of rebellion to their music. Comprising former solo artist PARKER (Parker Goff Chrisbens), along with her bandmates and producers Joey Cavallo and Quinn Smialek, Pretty Ugly makes a strong debut with their first official song, “Eat My Words.”

With influences from artists like Radiohead, No Doubt, Miley Cyrus, and Lorde, Pretty Ugly aims to become the next big thing. Their indie pop-rock sound and energetic performances have quickly gained recognition.

Their latest release, ‘LALALA,’ is described by the band as “a multi-genre exploration of feeling bored and stale when everything is stable and going well, and instead being drawn to trouble and yearning for a toxic, complicated relationship that promises chemistry and excitement.” Give it a stream on KOAR’s indie invaders playlist.
