Taylor Swift said in a CBS interview that she plans on rerecording her old material. Why? Because Justin Bieber manager Scooter Braun bought the rights to all Swifts master recordings. Taylor called this “my worst case scenario.” She plans to sidestep Scooter Braun by rerecording her entire catalog of songs minus her new music on Republic Records. Upon signing with Republic Records, she now owns the master rights to all of the music she creates going forward.

When I first made note of Lewis Capaldi’s new album release I never imagined that he would make such an impact. But after listening to Some You Loved I would’ve been surprised if the track didn’t have any legs. The track climbed to #1 in the UK and now it’s #17 in the U.S.where it’s gaining at top 40 radio and streaming platforms. 29 year old pop singer Bebe Rexha known for her colorful instagram made waves again by calling out a music executive.

The singer/songwriter posted a photo of herself in which she said “recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was ‘confusing.'” Because… I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age. I’m 29,” the caption read. “I’m fed up with being put in a box.” “I’m tired of women getting labeled as ‘hags’ when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age.” “Anyways, I’m turning 30 on August 30 and you know what, I’m not running away from it,” Rexha wrote. “I’m not gonna lie about my age or sing songs that I feel will sell better because they sound ‘younger.'”
