Marylin Manson has been dropped from his record label after former girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood accused him of abuse.

The indie label Loma Vista Recordings is an independent record label founded by Tom Whalley, former CEO of Warner Bros. Records.

“In light of today’s disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as their abuser, Loma Vista will cease to further promote his current album, effective immediately. Due to these concerning developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects,” the record label said.

Manson also known as Brian Warner has faced other past allegations, but this seems to be the most serious as far as consequences. The shock rocker is without a label. More importantly, this could snowball into live concerts.

Watch out for Swedish pop artist Eleonor Léone and her new electro pop song  “More Like Him”.
“In different ways, I’ve been making music my whole life. I did musicals and shows, so I have that background, but in the last year, I finally found what I was wanting to do ”“ like electro-pop and find my own voice,” she tells Rolling Stone.
She has performed at the showcase festival “Live at Heart” in Canada. She’s also touched down on various stages across the globe like India, Tokyo, Singapore and Barcelona. She recently performed at the Sweden’s biggest music conference; Sweden Live. Give it a listen.

Look out for indie pop Swedish singer Augustine and the track Prom. You’ll love if you’re a fan of indie falsetto ala Chairlift, Passion Pit, and MGMT.
“The night before prom came to embody this very tense and juvenile feeling of a life – changing moment. You know the feeling that everything will be different tomorrow? There is so much melancholia attached to it, but also excitement. It’s beautiful in a way. You never know how things will turn out, or what choices will make sense in the end.” Augustine says.
His first three singles hit #1 on the Hypem charts, and he won Pop Artist of the Year at the 2020 Swedish Independent Music Awards. Give it a stream on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.

Big Tech and social media are facing backlash across the globe. It will be a murky period for big tech and the social media platforms. Many expect the Biden admin won’t find favoritism with the boys of big tech. It’s very clear that the social media media platforms has lost its way. Not only are the lawsuits piling up, but the platforms have been cluttered with stories, photos, videos, tweets and fleets. The platforms have lost their uniqueness and its become a race to adopt the newest feature. As far as getting your message out there, it’s getting trickier to navigate the clutter in the massive sea of litter.

As the European governments reign in big tech so will the Biden Admin. President Biden said in December that he backs revoking Section 230 which has been a legal shield for Facebook, Twitter and Google.

The idea that the social media services are platforms is dying quickly. In the new world, they’re publishers that create algorithms that lead users to specific content.
The social media giants are leading users to think that we are living in the days of 2007 with a proper open platform. That’s not the case today. The new platform is “programmed” and customized by outside users.
Breaking up these companies will dominate the conversation this year.
