Have you ever asked yourself how a mediocre artist made it? Some are better salesmen and promoters than they are artists.

Artists must be 100% true to themselves. Don’t expect loyalty when you can’t provide honesty.

Artists don’t structure their lives around the opinions of others and aren’t swayed by social feedback.  Kanye will buy Universal Music Group and he doesn’t care what you say. He will run for president and doesn’t care if you think he is suffering from neurosis.

Artists don’t mind not knowing what the future holds.

Artists can laugh at themselves when they make mistakes. Adele stopped singing during her Grammy performance after realizing she was off-key. “I’m sorry, I can’t mess this up for him [George]”. The crowd cheered her on and she ended up receiving a standing ovation.

Artists build long lasting relationships with a few people instead of superficial friendships with many people.

Artists live in the moment instead of sticking to a routine.
Art and creativity is a process, not an endgame.

Musicians must make music, artists must paint, poets must write if they are ultimately at peace with themselves.

Artists let their true self emerge.

Artist make honest statements daring to be different, unpopular, and nonconforming.
Some of the most iconic artists and figures are neurotic and manic. It’s channeled in their work,

There are amazing singers who will never pick up a microphone, and songwriters that will never write down their thoughts, and painters that will never paint. It’s heartbreaking.

It saddens me that there are amazing artists who do nothing and are content watching mediocre artists clog up playlists and perform at award ceremonies.
Artists who try to get rich quick end up going broke instead.

Artist aren’t just looking to make a good living, they’re looking to make a statement.

It’s nice to have one hit song, it’s better to have two hits. Just ask Lewis Capaldi who called himself the one hit wonder. Now he has to live with having two mega hits.

Artist learn to shut out the noise of the world.

Kings favorite Clide drops a new fantastic single WYL.  Clide tells Kings, “WYL is one of the songs that really just came to me somehow. I was literally waking up after dreaming about a girl, so I got up to the piano and write it down. I love that song because it’s really heartfelt and comes from a real and pure place.”
Seriously, isn’t it special when a song comes from a dream? Clide now has over 300k Spotify monthly listeners. Check out the track on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.

You’l like Count Me In by For Tuesday especially if you’re in the mood for dark lo-fi indie rock. After a few listens, I was hooked, and I wasn’t sure what I was listening too, but I liked it. I’m searching harder than ever in sea of blandness and it’s refreshing to hear music from artists that are willing to take chances. The Pheonixville indie bedroom artist says, “it’s taken “years to get just right and thematically, it’s a track about being stuck in traffic on your commute home- reflecting on the road to get here and the road ahead.” The new single is marks the third single of 2020. Give it a stream on KOAR’s Indie Invader Playlist.

Look out for Ruben and the track Dear God.  It opens up with “Oh dear God Put me out of my misery Take this heart How did you get me like this Huh? This pretty much describes 2020. You may not of heard of Ruben here in the states, but he the 25 year old is huge in Norway. The singer songwriter grew up on an island called Bjarkøy with only 300 people. Influenced by the likes of Bebe Rexha, Sia and Sandro Cavazza, Ruben has garnered over 2 million Spotify monthly listeners and landed on Spotify’s Chill Hits and Norway’s Top 50. Give it a listen.

You’ll soon need proof of a vaccination or a covid test if you want to see a live show.

Pfizer just announced they have a covid vaccination with a 90% efficacy rate which saw a jump in stock price. But we may see the prices tumble with Ticketmasters recent announcement of mandatory covid testing.

Ticketmaster will check the coronavirus vaccination status of concert-attendees prior to shows. Customers will use their cellphones to verify vaccination or whether they’ve tested negative for the virus within a 24- to 72-hour window.
Three separate components will be involved. The California-based company’s digital ticketing app CLEAR Health Pass and testing/vaccination distributors like Labcorp or CVS.
The ticket holder is responsible for instructing a lab to send over the test results to companies like CLEAR Health Pass which would then verify the fan’s status to Ticketmaster. Anyone who tests positive or doesn’t get screened won’t be granted access to the event.
Will fans stay home or go through the process of testing and vaccination. That’s a big question.
