Singer-songwriter Noah Kahan who comes from a small sleepy town in Vermont will release Young Blood on January 27th via Republic Records. The track has the infectious indie pop flavor in the vein of Ed Sheeran, Hozier, and James Bay.
Instead of going to Tulane University, Noah focused on his songwriting which quickly gained attention from Joel Little who worked on the Lorde album. Now, Noah and Joel have teamed up and will release new music. I’ll link Young Blood when streaming becomes available.

Known for her work with Norwegian pop act Philco Fiction, Turid Alida Solberg, who now goes by Else Born has embarked on a solo career. Receiving praise from Press Play and many others, her debut track This Time/Remember out on Eskimo Recordings is very promising.
The single was accompanied by two remixes by LA duo Blue Motel who are known for remixing artists including Classixx , Poolside, Turbotito and Daniel T. You may also know Else Born from her feature on Horixon ‘Colours’ that was picked up by Stella McCartney.

Alex Frankel of NY indie act Holy Ghost released a solo EP filled with hook laden electro tracks. The Crime Cutz EP which was recorded in his home studio was released in September, but it’s worth mentioning because it’s that good.
Frankel is no stranger to the scene. He teamed up with the Classixx single I Feel Numb and has performed live with the group with stops as Lollapalooza, FYF Fest, KCRW and on Last Call with Carson Early, as well as joining Neon Indian for a Pitchfork TV live performance.

Toronto duo Jane Void and Wayne Doe who go under the moniker Some Minor Noise released new tracks including my favorite Herstory. The indie pop duo began making strides but took a bit of a break. The hiatus was well deserved because the new set of sad electro tracks crafted for the wounded could put the duo back on the map where they belong. Press included Pitchfork, Pigeons and Planes, and the 405.

New comer Liv Jones aka ives. delivers a powerful track Callin’ ur Phone that has racked up nearly 40k plays on SoundCloud. The track which straddles r&b and dream pop is the first single released from the New Zealand indie artist.
And what caused the twenty something to write the emotionally charged song? She got screwed over. If ives. keeps on delivering, we’ll hear more about her.
