bravestation

Toronto based trio Bravestation hits home with the 80’s influence 13th Floor. It’s hard not to love this track. Ironically, the name of the band comes from the novel Brave New World and Robert J. Hasting’s essay The Station.

The buzzing synth pop act has won over blogs with the latest track including I Heart Moosiq and had placements with Apple Hot Tracks and Spotify New Music.

They just wrapped up performing Halifax Pop Explosion.

felicity

Kings favorite Felicity will perform in New York City at Rockwood Music Hall on Nov 9th (8:00pm).

As I mentioned before, South Africa is proving to be a hub for talent. The buzzing 18 year old power pop vocalist has come to the forefront of the music scene. Inspired by Adele, Sia, and Celine Dion — Felicity cuts right to the chase with the track ‘Burnt Sugar‘. Filled with catchy one liners and memorable hooks, Felicity is an artist to watch.

Born in Australia and having settled in Cape Town, she now splits time between Colorado and NYC. Having hooked up with producer Brian Kierulf (Mike Posner, Lady Gaga) she released the track Poison which has surpassed 100k streams on Spotify and the newly Burnt Sugar.

Come to the show and watch this girl show off her vocal chops.

35th-and-taylor

Anna Taylor made her rounds auditioning for singing competitions like NBC’s The Voice, while winning Rockestra “American Idol” in Sioux City before joining 35th and Taylor.

The band just released the 10 song album I Know You’re Trouble which they recorded in Nashville with producer J Hall (Young The Giant, Hidden Hospitals).

Not sure where the band fits in genre wise; the three piece took a risk with the lead off track I Know Your Trouble. With risk comes reward, and some of the best work comes with no boundaries. According to Taylor, “it’s the first release that truly feels like their own sound.”

All under the age of twenty, the four members are no strangers to the road having toured extensively in the Midwest.

wet-leather

5 piece act Wet Leather has released the catchy Secret Preference. It’s not an easy task to pin down the bands sound, but they dub their bedroom funk recordings as anxiety-pop. Fair enough!

The latest track is the follow up to the ultra cool Shame and the quirky Yours & Mine. The indie band which formed in NYC just wrapped performing the Indie Shuffle showcase.

byrd

Boston based duo Byrd comprised of Ben Meyers and drummer Shaqed releases the track Not Today. Their last track Driving South garnered nearly 300k YouTube streams.

Pulling inspiration from artists such as Angels and Airwaves, All Time Low and Lana Del Rey I would dub them a road trip artist. They craft beautiful melodies and soundtracks for those long road trips.
