DC’s Young Summer releases her third song Fallout from her latest EP with great results. With a couple of streams, the hook laden synth pop track will get stuck in your head.

The indie songstress beautifully explains the backstory behind Young Summer; “I wanted something that represented the way this music felt to me which is free and untethered. When the summer has just begun and it feels like anything is possible, that freedom is what the name encapsulates to me and of course it has evolved into meaning much more but as whole it is about freedom and being unafraid.

Dan Owen is going places with Made To Love You. A song that is centered around domestic violence, Owen displays his vocal chops coupled with a haunting melody. The thought provoking track has reached #2 in the French Spotify Viral Chart, #4 in Belgium and also took hold in the Netherlands and Hungary.

I’m blown away by the UK indie duo Iron Lines consisting of Anthony Goldsbrough & Gavin Powell which are seasoned writers, producers, and musicians. They’ve been in good company having worked alongside Ed Sheeran, Bastille, and James Bay.

With the recommendation of a publishing company, the dynamic duo came out with their own material which is nevertheless impressive. The single Voices sounds slightly reminiscent to the beat of Ho Hey by The Lumineers and is catchy as Avicii’s top charting songs. Need I say more?

I’ve stumbled across Midnight Faces, a Los Angeles trio that crafts catchy 80’s dream pop layered in synths and an addicting vocal. After reading several reviews of the band, it became noticeable that the indie act is hard to describe, a great achievement of course in a climate of pop drivel.

Guitarist Matthew Doty notes “We are admittedly terrible at talking about our music in any serious way,” he says. “It’s a self-deprecating disease and a result of living in Los Angeles where everyone can’t wait to tell you how they hung the stars. We’re proud of the work we put into this record and are grateful for the skilled humans who added their touch to Heavenly Bodies. It’s a sincere attempt at our own thing. And for the record — we hung the stars.”

Having just wrapped up a month long residency at the Bootleg Theater, the new wave act has won over tastemakers sites including Consequence Of Sound, Earmilk, and Nylon.

Songstress Kylie Hughes just released the beachy and rootsy track Take Me Anywhere. Based in Malibu she’s performed at Hollywood legendary venues including Viper Room, Hotel Café, House of Blues, and she sung the National Anthem prior to John Mayer taking the stage. The video for the track is captivating which takes you through some cool spots in sunny Cali.

Kylie notes, “Take me anywhere was inspired by my real life relationship and how we just get up and go every weekend on an adventure. He’s also pretty good with a camera so I had the idea to make the video ‘home movie/road trip’ style. It’s real, it’s personal and there’s no hair and makeup team. Just the two of us being super creative and collaborative, it’s my favorite music video I’ve done so far.”
