David Bowie was not just a musician, artist, & fashion icon, but he was a visionary. He accurately predicted the impact of the internet.

He embraces the de-mystificaiton process between the artist and the audience and he is unable to picture the future we’re already living in, just 15 years later. “What the internet is going to do to society, both good and bad, is unimaginable.”

David Bowie was a deep thinker, well studied in his craft that helped him become a prolific pop writer.

Mystery Jets

Although well known in the UK, I wanted to note that Mystery Jets will release their fifth album ‘Curve Of The Earth‘ on January 15th. The band released the lead-off song ‘Telomere’, a fantastic spacey and atmospheric indie rock track. Blaine Harrison explained he came up with the idea for the song after reading Patti Smith’s book, Just Kids. “There’s this great line in there where she said “the victories and the plights of your ancestors live through you in your blood”. I started thinking about ancestry and I wonder if, all the people who’ve come before you in your bloodline, if part of them does live on in your essence.” The new album will have a release via Caroline International and the album was recorded in east London.

Pure Youth Band

London indie rockers Pure Youth have just released the video for ‘New November‘ that comes off the ‘On Our Way’ EP. The London band formed in 2014 has already picked up some wins with the first single ‘I’m Not Yours’ which was featured on Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlist and clocked 126k+ streams. All in all, the new single “New November” is a mature & sophisticated sound for a band that has only been together for a year. The band shows no signs of slowing down having supported Youth Club and No Devotion on the road.
