Los Angeles indie alternative act Moons Of Mars has been generating a good deal of buzz with their latest EP “Free To Fly”. The lead single ‘Holiday‘ reaching #2 on KROQ’s Locals Only. The band has performed at recent festivals including Echo Park Rising and Culture Collide. Have you heard the track Lovers Or Nothing?It’s incredibly catchy that reminisces One Republics breakthrough “Apologize”. Nate Merchant is an upcoming artist, producer, and singer -songwriter who has been releasing music under Merchant. He cites Talking Heads, Blondie, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, & Prince as influences, and has landed a vocal production credit on Jason Derulo’s ‘Want To Want Me’. His song “Walk Through Fire” was featured on SyFy’s Z-Nation Season 1 Episode 2.

Buzz Track: Problems Problems

Los Angeles indie pop songstress Frankie has become a Kings favorite. The track ‘Problems Problems‘ comes off her debut EP, “Dreamstate” which was produced by Petros and Chris Zane (Passion Pit, RAC). She quotes “I want to bridge together the sound of women from the ’70s, like Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell, with women from the ’90s, like Alanis Morissette and The Spice Girls.” Her track ‘New Obsession‘ was also dubbed by Billboard as a “song you need for your summer playlist”.

Buzz Track: Heartless

DC indie rock act Color Palette has released ‘Heartless‘ – an upbeat indie rock track layered in guitars and synths. Baeble Music says “combines a lively riff with an underlying yet robust synth line reminiscent of the tail end of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart.” “Heartless” was produced by friend Kyle Downes and pulling inspiration from artists such as Kurt Vile and New Order. The band is set to play DC’s Rock & Roll Hotel on July 25th.
