Buzz Track: Lights
I’m really enjoying folk/acoustic/pop artist Katy Glorioso, I find her voice and melodies memorable. Her story goes: After recording an EP in 2011, it fell into the hands of Nashville singer/songwriter Jeremy Casella. Katy recorded with Casella in Nashville and released her full length album Fine and Foolish. Katy has gained radio play on Central Pennsylvania’s The River 97.3 as well as performing in some of the top venues in the area. She headlined CI Records’ Endless Summer Fest 3. and has opened for Jon Walker (formerly of Panic! at the Disco) and will be opening for Jennifer Knapp on Oct. 30.

Buzz Track: Your Man

THE VIM DICTA is an indie act comprising of just two guitar/vocalists and a drummer. Their influences range from The Mars Volta, The Doors, and Parliament Funkadelic. The track ‘Your Man’ was featured on the Season 5 Premier of SONS OF ANARCHY. Interestingly, the band recorded the tracks live in the studio with no overdubs and I hear the live show is intense.

Taylor Swift is expected to sell more than 1 million copies of her new album ‘Red’ in its first week. Swift has managed to stay on the top of charts but it comes with a price. Her music is still crafted for the 12-14 year old female even though Swift is now 22. At her age age many have graduated college and are entering the work force if they are fortunate to find jobs. Regardless, Swift has to figure out her own personal narrative if she wants wants to be known as a story teller since her new album crosses over to the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry, an album that is crafted for the top 40 audience. Although Swift’s new radio singles certainly rival Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” and Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” her reputation as a poet could be at stake.

Check out her latest album review from The Guardian and NY Daily News.
