I’ve never heard of these guys until now, but I likem. I like the just track released Guru by Thirdway. It has the catchy melody layered in 80’s synths which I personally love. It’s like a follow up to The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights. The duo are Xander Edwards and Paul Vilas and they creating soulful and danceable tracks laden with synths, drum machines, organic samples and expansive vocals out of their their studio in South London. Find the track on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.

Belaro releases the uptempo single Scarlet. The 19 year old singer wrote the song with her best friend and co-writer Sophia Romano at the beginning of lockdown and were aiming to write an updated version of Dolly Parton’s Jolene.

Belaro says, “We created a fictional girl, Scarlet, who we would be jealous of and who we would fear would take our man. I would say we wrote an homage because we all admire Dolly so much. Scarlet is super special to me because I got to write it with those I love and I think we wrote something super relatable that everyone will be able to connect with in one way or another. We’re all super proud of this one! It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve written to date and I’m so excited to share it with the world.”

David Ost releases a new track Fire In Alaska that I really like. It’s a mid tempo song that takes you a journey. That’s why D. Ost has a become a Kings favorite. His songs are introspective and poetic and they pull you in. Bouncing back and forth between Germany and Scotland, he now resides in Hamburg. The indie singer has garnered over 100k plays on Spotify while picking up streams in every single country. He’s working on a first album release in 2021. Check out the video here.

Zeplyn aka Rachel Wilkinson drops a new track Bad Love. You’ll love it especially if you like uptempo experimental pop. Having worked with Producer Dan Lancaster (Alissic, The Hunna, One OK Rock), the latest is her fourth single and probably her best. She’s garnered support form BBC Introducing and landed on Spotify’s editorial playlists. Zeplyn notes, “It’s definitely more upbeat than my last track, which was deeply personal. This one has a kind of danceability to it. I can’t stop my shoulders moving once the second part of the chorus hits’. Check out the video here.

Thus is the time of year when artist release Christmas songs. As each year more passes we get more and more, but like with everything else only a few stand out, and a small handful become classics. I do like Saint Djuni’sGood To Be Home’. It’s fun, wintery, and Christmassy and will definitely work at the holiday gathering. The duo is made up of Clifford Goilo (Bakermat, Jeremy Renner & Bone Thugs N Harmony) & Rasmus Viberg (Next To Neon, MOMENT). Two friends met in 2 different countries (Estonia & France).
