Like A Parrot is a production duo consisting Aaron Bonus (formerly of Westland) and Justin Gammella (in Venona). Following in the foot steps of Capital Cities and Monsters of Men, in just 4 months Like A Parrot has already signed a publishing deal and are gaining notoriety very quickly within the Alternative scene. They plan to release an EP this upcoming fall.

Philadelphia’s City Rain who we just featured just came in first place during last week’s MTVU The Freshmen Competition. The video for the single “The Optimist” will be added into full rotation. This single is part of the band’s forthcoming, full length LP entitled, Songs for a High School Dance, due out in 2014. The band has shared the stage with Capital Cities, Brick & Mortar, Lumineers, among others.

Buzz Track: I Got It

Los Angeles based 17 year old singer-songwriter Brandon Bassir is making some noise. His debut EP was produced by Emile Ghantous (Pitbull, Chris Brown). Influenced by multiple genres, he was drawn to John Mayer, Kanye West, Pink Floyd, Queen, Elton John, Childish Gambino, and Bruno Mars. Brandon’s Ep “22” captures the nostalgia and rich sounds of over 60 years. You can check him out at House Of Blues in West Hollywood on February 6th.

Buzz Track: Like A Bird (Video)

Pop artist Beth Spangler is currently recording her project in Atlanta with production team MATRAX (R. Kelly) and producer Chris “Deep” Henderson (“Blame It” – Jamie Foxx feat. T-Pain). She captured the eyes and ears of songwriters and producers after building a name for herself through a vocal competition. She peaked at #12 on MTV’s popular artist list and her covers of of Clarity and All In My Head have been fan favorites. The single will be available on iTunes January 27th.
