Could shows be off the table in 2022? I wouldn’t count it out. A string of artists cancelled their tours in the fall of 2021. Fauci now said he doesn’t see any type of normalcy until the Spring of 2022, at the earliest. Artists and managers are frustrated, because there is more uncertainty now than ever. At least last fall, the hopes of touring the Spring seemed plausible and it was. Now, nobody knows where this going. It’s a cruel summer.

The artist on the road now have full understanding that the wheels could fall off at any moment.

We all thought the vaccines were going to buy us out of this mess, but Israel with a highest vaccination rate also has the highest covid surge. A booster is on its way. Who knows if the latest booster will settle the score. Maybe an annual booster because the virus changes so rapidly.

And what about the debate around vaccine reports? No doubt it will harm business. I wouldn’t be surprised if concerts saw a 40% reduction in ticket sales. It’s risky business when you mix a weary population, and many who’ve been struggling for work 18 months with new laws like vaccine passports.

We want to keep people safe without destroying entertainment with all the restrictions.

Hard question, tough answers.

Olivia Rodrigo has added two members of Paramore to the writing credits of her single “Good 4 U”. Why? Rodrigo’s hit song is very similar to Paramore’s 2007 hit song Misery Business. They both share an identical verse and chorus accompanied with a rock production.

Paramore singer Hayley Williams and ex-guitarist Josh Farro are now listed as co-writers of the song.

Check out the Mashup.

Look out for Abby Carey and the track Diamonds. The song would fit nicely on Spotify’s Indie Pop and Indie Pop & Chill Playlist.

“I actually wrote this chorus about struggling with OCD and how hopeless it can feel at times. The verses are written around the visual of “diamonds and dust” and what that could mean. I had fun putting those two ideas together” shares Abby.

The Los Angeles based 24 year old is inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Ariana Grande, and Wolf Alice.

Watch out for Mesmeriser and the track All In Good Time. The band draws comparisons to The Beatles, Tame Impala and Crowded House. Think garage rock meets dream rock, maybe Oasis without the drama.

I was hearing the news that Billie Eilish had won a whole bunch of Grammy’s at 19. When you hear someone do so well at such a young age, it makes you question a lot of things as 20-something anyone! Let alone a musician’ said Front-man Myles Fischer about the song.

The track comes off the upcoming EP SOLD! The previous release Melancholia landed on Spotify’s Fresh Finds (AU, NZ).

If you love the 80’s, you’ll like Nate Merchant aka Merchant. Check out the tracks Dead Days & Gatorade along with Don’t Feel Like Dancing. Both songs are solid.

He hooked up with Duran Duran’s John Taylor and a collaboration began. With Taylor playing bass, they drummed up 6 distinctive synth-pop songs. The track have received support from Ones To Watch (Live Nation) Jason Kramer on KCRW, Billboard, and Sirius XM.

Merchant will drop more singles in the coming months and wrap up the project with a 6 song EP in December.

The LA based pop artist honed his songwriting and production skills working with Sam Martin (Maroon 5, Jason Derulo, One Direction). Nate’s first band Papa Ya cracked the Top 10 on the Spotify Viral Charts with their debut single “Sunny.” Stream the track on KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist.
