South African/ NYC based Lee Cole paints the world pink with his new track Pink Dragons and also lands for the first time on Spotify’s New Music Friday (SA). The latest track is more happier than his previous heartbreak song I Don’t Wanna Wait which is still garnering thousands of streams a day. Pink Dragons sounds like a Ed Sheeran -Lewis Capaldi co-write, but it’s not. Here is a review of the song that’s worth reading. I’ve been saying for a while that this sad boy pop artist could be the next artist up to bat. We added the track to KOAR’s Indie Invaders Playlist. If you haven’t already, follow the playlist.

The TikTok countdown begins. President Trump said he would ban the Chinese owned TikTok and WeChat in the US in 45 days if they are not sold by their Chinese-owned parent companies.

Microsoft is in talks to acquire the app following a conversation between CEO Satya Nadella and the President.
Trump set September 15 as the deadline for TikTok to find a US buyer. The app will be shutdown after the date if a buyer doesn’t rise to the occasion.
Right now, the app has attracted the 40 year old mom that shows off her dancing skills after much practice. But what happens if the app is banned? Is this the end of the world? No worries, I’m betting Microsoft wraps this up with the help of the president. Hence, TikTok will be saved and the world hangs on for one more day.
But Instagram Reels is waiting for you, if TikTok does go dark.

Kings favorite clide is back with a new track release Fallin. The new track is strong and follows the song Lost that garnered over million Spotify plays. The Berlin-based indie pop singer-songwriter has a knack of creating songs that don’t initially jump out at ya but you grow to love to them. It’s like wine that gets better with time. The 20-year-old artist has 300,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Check out Sucker by Kaptan. It goes, “I’m just a sucker for a happy ending”. This takes on a whole new meaning now. Don’t we want a happy ending? You’ll like the track if you’re a sucker (no pun intended) for up beat indie pop and chill wave. Kaptan is an indie pop act based in Nashville and we just added the track to KOAR’s Indie Invaders. The song also landed on Spotify’s Good Vibes and Young & Free.

The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, and Gaga putting out 80s inspired albums may have resulted with the resurgence of the sound. I hear more tracks right now that have that particular 80s sound – the Yamaha DX7 synth patch that became hugely popular in the 80s and 90s for its electric piano and synth sounds. I have a warm spot for the 80’s and maybe that’s why I like the track Electric by Daniel Saint Black. The singer-songwriter is from New Mexico and worked with Johnny Simmen, a Nashville based producer and writer. His goal as an artist? “To make the world a better place, one conversation and song at a time.” Give it a stream on KOAR’s: Indie Invaders Playlist.
