Kings favorite Dan Crossley dropped a new track Call Back. Having clocked nearly 500k streams and the attention of tastemakers, his latest track blends pop, R&B, and soul. Crossley says, “Call Back was written about that situation we’ve all been in; waiting for someone you’re interested in to call you back, but they never do. The track focuses on longing to hear their voice and wondering what could have been.” The 23 year old also notes that if he could go back in time, it would be in the golden age of pop. “I would definitely love to head back to the 90’s – Pop music has never been the same!” Check it out!

I’m really liking the track Voice by YO//NGOPT/MIST. The group formed when Andy Brooks (former Vocalist for Transmit Now) asked Shohn (former Vocalist for Repel The Robot) to produce a few demos for him in the Winter of 2016. Now the duo are creating ear worms, blending rock, alternative, and pop. The latest track has the chorus that would crush radio in the nineties, but indie rock artists doesn’t write these choruses on anymore, well, except these guys. Give it stream!

Kings favorite Krowns kicked off the new year with a new track release. The latest track Triumphant is a a stadium singalong song, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you eventually heard this at a sporting event. The band notes, “Triumphant is a song for the people. A song to empower the underdog in all of us to rise up from societal pressure and fear”. The alternative three-piece from Canada worked with music producer Stephen Kozmeniuk (Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar) and made our 10 Artists You Need To Know List.

I really like Call It What It Is by Laura Jean Anderson. Think Janis Joplin meets Patsy Cline. Before the LA based musician was releasing a string of rootsy singles, she was busking on the streets of Peru. That’s true love of art. While winning Support from NPR, Noisey, Salon, and Fader – Lauren’s aim is to pay homage to her personal heroes in the tradition of storytelling. She notes, ” I am such a lover of old music but love when a contemporary artist strikes my heart. I love what Alabama Shakes, Kendrick Lamar, Nick Hakim and the new Leon Bridges record are doing to the American tradition of music”. Give it a listen!

I really like Spitfire by Lone Wild. Originally calling themselves The Fairweather, they are a mix of Muse and U2. Having shared the stage with Young the Giant, Dreamers, Civil Twilight, and Mutemath – The Oklahoma indie act managed to grab the big classic pop sound. With landing on playlists and garnering blog love, Lone Wild is definitely an artist to watch in 2019. Give it a stream!
