High Highs

Brooklyn indie duo High Highs have released their latest “How Could You Know” which comes off their new album Cascades. Drawing inspiration from the 80’s the band recorded most of their album in NY. High Highs have been in formation for several years and their music has been featured in major commercials including Amazon Kindle. With all that, the band has hovered under the radar but this all could change with the latest tracks. They have some big shows coming at Bootleg Theater in LA & Rough Trade NYC.

Paperwhite

Brooklyn’s brother-sister duo are buzzing with their track Paperwhite. Getting a lot of attention from blogs & Hypem the dream pop act is poised to breakout. Paperwhite delivers memorable melodies, soundscapes and choruses. Katie Marshal notes “What feels so special about Get Away is that while it speaks of the power of freeing your mind, finding your escape, and getting away from it all, it’s inviting someone to join you”. They just released their latest track ‘Unstoppable” that was premiered by Billboard.

Desiree

Los Angeles based pop singer-songwriter Desiree premieres her first single ‘Love Sick‘. The track comes off her forthcoming EP and will be available on iTunes February 14th. The song is sexy, sensual, & haunting, a perfect release for Valentines Day. A former Idol contestant, Desiree was selected to sing during the Los Angeles Sparks game at the Staple Center and also sang the national anthem for the Seattle Mariners. Desiree draws influences from Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston.

Ivy Nations

I’ve become a fan Dublin act Ivy Nations. The track ‘You Are The Centre Of Me’, is an impressive upbeat track with a memorable guitar hook & chorus. Known in the Dublin scene, the 4 piece indie act could easily move outward. The band notes via the track, “A lustful relationship that continues to shape the lives of both long after the relationship ends. A ruthless desire to seek out one another while leading separate lives. A paralysis that binds them both to a past that offers no forgiveness. The realization that the future is shrouded in uncertainty, offering only the chance to start again.” Drawing influences from Vampire Weekend to Wild Beasts, specialty radio and blogs alike are beginning to take notice.
