The mystique-laden Canadian artist Al Ethier releases her debut single Stardust. The track was written over the course of several months and infuses pop with hip hop. With plans to roll out a few more singles shortly that explore different narratives, the first track Stardust definitely falls into the dark-cranky pop territory with lyrics like, “I guess we all could use a little stardust, take us to the place where no one harms us” and “raise a little hell, we are just lions now, we don’t cage very well”. Ethier notes, “This song means a lot to me as a first single because even during the recording I felt so empowered. It’s about breaking boundaries and kind of wanting to get away from holding your tongue when you don’t agree with the norm.”

Kings favorite Zoey Lily drops a new track Not There (feat. Indigo Svn). Covering her prior single releases, we proposed that the 20 year old knows how to deliver melancholic songs. The accent vocals and the melodies, it’s all suitable for the sad soul. Big support from from BBC Introducing London, Hoxton Radio, The Line Of Best Fit and BuzzFeed. She could be dubbed the queen of ‘chill out’.

Poking our nose in the country world we found a nice little gem. His name is Nathan Kalish and just released an alt country album. It’s tough to categorize Kalis, but maybe Neil Young and Wilco fans would find solace in his music. Even Kalish admits, “I have a hard time fitting in anywhere. I think I always will”. Scheduled to play 250+ shows in 2018, the latest album was recorded with Dave Beeman (Pokey LaFarge). Moreover, the Nashville based artist made the Rolling Stone ‘10 Country Artists You Need Know‘.

Kings favorite Violet Days who made our top 8 emerging list in 2015, just released a new track ‘Just A Little‘. You can view the video here. The new track follows the previous Somber featuring morgxn. All in all, Lina Hansson, who goes under the moniker of Violet Days is on the cusp of breaking out and the newest single could take the Swedish artist to the next level. Maybe she will finally get that break. In fact, the track was produced by Kris Eriksson, who crafted Chainsmokers’ “Paris” which became a huge hit. Check it out!

Kings favorite St. Humain releases a new track ‘The Thought Of You‘. It’s the third single release that comes off his upcoming project. The latest track follows the amazing and probably still my favorite ‘Free Fall‘ which made Apple Music’s “Best of the Week”, Spotify’s Pop for Life, and quickly clocked 100k Spotify streams. The singer-songwriter and producer is a Singapore native but now resides in Australia. Definitely a one to watch.
