Brooklyn based producer and songwriter Ben Rice releases his new single “The Getaway”. With a first listen, he sounds like a modern day Tom Petty, gifted with a captivating vocal, that can make any song sound good. Of course, Ben is no stranger to success and he isn’t a new artist per say. He has produced artists from The Skins to The Candles feat. Norah Jones, and fronted the wildly popular Surefire and Blackbells. Still, there is a generation that has never heard of him. Although Rice is very quiet and aloof on social media, he has picked up a lot of genuine press generally from the songwriting community. If anything, the strength lies in the songs. Give it a stream.

Known or not known for her time on America’s Got Talent before she got booted as a finalist, Caly Bevier releases the track Head Held High. Although her latest track is your typical structured pop song, there is something special about it. Even before getting kicked off the TV singing show, Caly struggled with cancer at a young age. The Ohio native sings with emotion and you can hear the trials she’s endured. No matter the amount of writers and producers involved in the making the track, the artist always has to deliver and Caly does just that. Moreover, Caly has a higher calling. “I’ve always said that no matter what happens with music or my career, I always want to fight for people who have cancer or have had cancer,” she says. Give it a stream.

Alt-pop trio NONONO releases a radio worthy track ‘Ego’. This unique act made some waves in 2014 with the release of Pumpin Blood that sold more than 2 million singles and landed them on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel, and a US tour supporting Twenty One Pilots and Foster the People. The Swedish act formed in Stockholm following Stina’s return from Brighton University in the UK where she had spent three years studying for a degree in psychology. She’d been signed by a label as a 17-year-old but had grown weary. “I had done two years of just writing with different producers and there was pressure to always be writing something that could be a hit and there were a lot of strict ways of how songs should sound. It took the fun out of it. It made me really sad and made me think I didn’t want to be a songwriter. But, these guys just encouraged creativity and for the songs not having to be a certain way – as long as you feel it and it feels good.” Give the new track a stream.

Riva Taylor delivers a soulful track My Mouth. Many believe Taylor Swift was the youngest ever to sign with a major music label, but it’s Riva Taylor who signed with EMI at 12. Why the mistake? Because Taylor Swift is famous and Riva is just getting started. Of course they sound nothing alike. With her latest track produced by Jonathan Quarmby, (James Arthur), think Kate Bush meets Florence Welch. If Riva does make it, she’ll be prepared for the antics that comes with from being in demand. At 12, she performed at the Farm Aid benefit concert at the Royal Albert Hall, that was attended by Prince Charles who praised her performance. Moreover, she has intellect, graduating from the University of Durham after undertaking a three-year degree in History. Check it out!
