TikTok artist JAX released 90s Kids via Atlantic. JAX swung the bat several times before hitting a home run. She placed third on Idol and performed with Steven Tyler, and released several singles on Spotify shortly after. She never made a splash on Instagram but found her niche on Tiktok after posting comedic videos. After garnering millions of views from her parody videos, Atlantic Records jumped on board and signed her to a record deal. The track was written by JAX and Brooklyn based producer and songwriter Kevin Andreas. Give it a stream.

Check out Nobody Loves You by Sarah Phillips. You’ll like if you’re a fan of a sad indie pop. It’s great for sync too. She’s a singer-songwriter originally from Montréal but now residing in Los Angeles. Influenced by Joni Mitchell, Phoebe Bridgers, and Damien Rice, the latest track is about “the death of someone very close to me” says Sarah. Her track Six Feet Under landed on Spotify’s “Life Sucks” Playlist garnering almost 2Million streams. The latest track Nobody Loves You landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday. The music industry’s criticized Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey for not taking down copyrighted material fast enough.

The music biz made note that Twitter failed to meet basic standards of responsible moderation with respect to rampant theft of creative works on its platform.

The biz soured on Twitter after its refusals to negotiate licensing deals and its inability to police copyrighted content on the platform.

Can Jack take a step back and reflect? Well, he is the co-founder and CEO of Square, who recently acquired a majority stake in Jay Z’s Tidal. May he find himself in the shoe is on the other foot situation…

Watch out for indie pop artist Sofi Gev and the new release Shakedown. You’ll like if you love MGMT and The Head and the Heart. The song could top the list of greatest indie anthems of 2021.

Sofi Gev shares “Life sometimes feels like a sham, as if we are just running in place, trying to avoid getting played. It seems all you can do is stand on the edge and scream into the distance, believing there must be something better. But for now, rage will do.”

Look out for Issey Cross and the new track Fun Fair. You’ll like if you love RnB, hip-hop.

It’s the third track that comes off her just released EP Mirrors Don’t Lie out via Cult Behaviour. Issey blends R&B, hip hop and technicolor, and borrows some color from Melanie Martinez.

The 21 year old London based artist has garnered support from BBC Radio 1, DAZED, Wonderland, Notion, The Line of Best Fit. Give the track a stream on KOAR’s Indie Invaders.
