Kings favorite Merchant drops the new track Empty that features John John Taylor from Duran Duran. The mid tempo track is sadder than the previous release but still uplifting to find a home on Spotify’s Indie Pop Playlist.

“I close the blinds and go back to sleep” is probably how a lot of us have felt these past few weeks with the resurgence a new Covid variant, but Merchant says there’s hope.

The Los Angeles based artist has received support from Ones To Watch, WFNM, KCRW, Lyndsey Havens of Billboard, and Lori Majewski & Simon Le Bon on Sirius XM. The tracks landed on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” and “Fresh Finds Pop”.

Spotify is removing Neil Young from the platform. The streaming company will continue to host Joe Rogan who garners over 11 million listens per episode.

Neil Young has demanded for his songs to be pulled from Spotify because they host Joe Rogan’s Experience, a popular podcast. The folk singer wants Joe Rogan banned.

Young asked his management team and record label to remove his music.

Young wrote, “Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them.”

Spotify can have “Joe Rogan or Young. Not both,”

“By allowing the propagation of false and societally harmful assertions, Spotify is enabling its hosted media to damage public trust in scientific research and sow doubt in the credibility of data-driven guidance offered by medical professionals,” the letter stated.

I can almost say for certain that Adele’s Las Vegas Residency was canceled over production and personal drama, certainly not covid or supply chain issues as she suggested.

The UK singer cancelled her 3 month residency 24 hours before showtime.

“When she saw the finished design, she refused to take part” according to a source.

Adele may also be having relationship problems with boyfriend Rich Paul, the Klutch Sports Founder and LeBron James associate who serves as the agent of Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons.

Page Six cites “insiders are concerned Adele may end up canceling the concerts. There are rumblings that there are stresses related to Adele’s relationship,” Roeben said. “I’m told that these stresses caused her to be in a place where she was just not confident moving forward. You can’t focus if you’re not where you need to be in your head.”

Variety is also reporting that Keith Urban will take over some of Adele’s dates at Caesars Palace, as her sets are loaded out”.

Look out for Natalie Gish and the track The End Of Something Good.

Natalie says, “I wrote The End Of Something Good at that time in my life when there was a lot of things that were coming to an end. Even though this person or this thing has been the best thing that has ever happened to you, sometimes you have to close the chapter for you to be able to grow”

The Nashville based artist just released her debut EP filled with heartfelt tracks. She cites Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, and Billie Eilish as influences. The EP which comes over just 13 minutes comprises of Say Goodbye, Just Strangers, The End of Something Good, and Where I Was Before.

Following the release of her debut EP, Natalie quickly garnered support from Pop Wrapped, CelebMix, Music-News, and Skope Mag.

Olivia Rodrigo departs with her longtime manager Kristen Smith.

Why do managers and artist that begin their journey together often part ways after a successful venture?

I’m not speculating at all on Olivia Rodrigo’s relationship with her manager.

It’s not uncommon that rising artists and managers split shortly after a radio hit and a tour. Both didn’t know what to expect and it’s all new. What started out as fun turns into a high pressure environment.

At times, the tour manager falls into the role of an artist manager eventually replacing the artist manager altogether. They have all the connections on the road and that’s where you want to live. But tour managers may not be very savvy in business deals and may not make great representation for the artist.

Everyone is offering their opinion. Ask any overnight sensation act. From make up artists to producers, label heads to agents, friends to mum and dad. It becomes confusing and distracting throwing things off course.

And then you have poachers and agents making secret phone calls to the artist selling them the dreams, something more on a grande scale hoping to lure them away. An 18 year old who never made a trip around the globe can easily be led away by smooth talkers.
